Learning should never be restricted for anyone, especially not in today’s time of technology. Toastmasters International helps you build your communication and leadership skills. With hundreds of chapters worldwide, HiEd is a registered chapter too. Anyone who is interested can join in at a nominal fee, which covers their charter fee for an entire year. And when they work sincerely for one year on your communication and leadership skills, they come out as a stronger and opinionated individual. Not just that, I invite International Speakers in our sessions with whom they can connect live and get mentored. The attendees get to join in virtually and at a fixed time every Wednesday. Struggle is a part of everyone’s life. I have had my share of them and it took a lot to be where I am today. I realize how hard it is for people to fulfill their dreams. They are self-driven yet lack that one life-changing opportunity. My mentors helped me and now it is my duty to help others. The program invites minds who are self-motivated and are committed to prove and enhance their existing skill set. They get to be a team player and still be mentored individually. They get hands-on experience in real-time projects while enhancing their soft skills. When we focus on the overall growth of an individual while solidifying their work ethics, it does make a difference.

Another dimension to it is for prospective employers. The employers can get their projects done at half the cost, no cost sometimes for the community projects or if they would want to hire candidates validated by our program. It’s a win-win for all the parties involved.

There’s a story behind this. My dad was a farmer’s son, who with his hard work and aptitude got into one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in India – IIT Roorkee. He changed destiny not only for himself but also for his entire family and village. It was possible because someone guided him and showed him the right direction. I have heard stories from him of those angels who came to his help for him to pave a path for success. His stories always touched my heart. On his behalf, as a token of gratitude, I would now want to impact lives in the same way and if I could help just one person, it would bring me closer to fulfilling my life purpose.

First Generation is defined as first-time degree-seeking students in their family tree. It is assumed that they don’t have immediate family members to give proper career guidance and they depend on a mentor for that. That’s why, along with others, my heart and HiEd Success doors would be open to giving opportunities to such students.

I define success as ‘the number of lives impacted by me’. With this in mind, I pledged to transform 20 lives in 2020. I want to give back to society in ways more than one. For 2020, we have already enrolled 10 students from India who are working with my team & I. We’ve recently set up a HiEd Incubation Center in India and have sponsored PCs and infrastructure. We would also be happy to sponsor certifications such as Tableau, Qualtrics among others to help the students learn and grow. As leaders, it is our duty to uplift and pass on the mantle to the next-gen leaders. Knowing that you are able to make a difference in other’s life is a powerful feeling and the sense of accomplishment is enthralling. A speaker can engage with us in the Toastmasters session or the technical webinar Fridays and share knowledge. A mentor can choose to dedicate some time in their schedules and work with the Ambassadors in their field of expertise. Small businesses have been worst-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and are facing challenges to acquire new clients, outsourcing work to professionals due to lack of in-house teams and so on. Under my HiEd Ambassador Program initiative, the students are trained not only in Business Process Automation, Analytics etc but are also given hands-on experience on skills including Website development, Digital marketing (managing social media accounts, SEO, Ads), Graphic designing, Content Writing, automating manual data entry work and so on. Using my resources, I’ve already been working with a lot of NGOs and small businesses and helping them sail through with either no-cost or at a discounted rate (depending on the scope of work). We also work with individuals to develop their Personal Brand.
